LBADG, I am so sorry, and praying for you.

amberlight · 24/11/2010 09:38

LBADG - many prayers for you and your family.

And much praise for all the good things that hhave happened for others.

Keeping the prayers going.

Here, still having moments of panic and my confidence is nowhere near as good as it was, but it's still an improvement and with God's help I think it will continue to improve...

madhairday · 24/11/2010 13:12

Just praying this morning for all of you and this song came to mind - that even in the darkness he is here and we can praise him - hope it helps some of you today.

jaffacakeaddict · 24/11/2010 14:22

LBADG and NSFN - prayers for both of you at this sad time

SS - hope everything is going well for you and your little one. Was thinking about you this morning and wondering about how you are getting on.

I've decided not to take DS2 back into a church service for the time being. I don't need to put either him or me into a situation where we are being judged. He doesn't get anything out being in church and I'm so busy trying to pacify him I don't get anything out of the service either. I'll take him along to the Sunday School and he can join the other children when they come out of church.

Prayers for everyone else too.

Swaliswan · 24/11/2010 15:12

LBADG and NSFN - so sorry for your losses. May God comfort you and send His peace to rest upon you.

Swaliswan · 24/11/2010 15:26

A little update from me...

I'm still pregnant! I'm also still very tired from having on-off contractions. It seems that I have quite an 'irritable' uterus and DC3 seems to have settled down in my pelvis now instead of doing the hokey cokey. We all know that stage when you can't bend any more and you feel like you've got a baby in your bits! Every time I have a bought of contractions I can feel pressure low down. The midwives weren't exactly happy about this as this is what's making me dilate. Hey ho! There's not a lot that I can do other than rest.

And so I come to a prayer request. Little B is poorly (probably just her molars coming and giving her a sore throat/snotty nose and lots of pain). The last three nights she has ended up in bed with us because she is so sore despite calpol and ibuprofen. Night time is when I tend to have my worst pains (something to do with hormone cycles apparently) so I am left feeling utterly helpless when I can't soothe her. Poor DH is obviously going to be stressed atm and he is doing all of the night time comforting of B unless I'm able to help. Needless to say that he is shattered too. I'm not sure how much longer we can go on like this. I'm also feeling really guilty about the stress that I'm causing DH, the girls and my parents. The thought of having leave little B with my mum if I go into labour makes me feel like I'm failing her and expecting too much from my mum. Anyway, I've ranted enough for you to get the picture. Please pray for my precious little B and for more uninterrupted sleep in the Swali household!

madhairday · 24/11/2010 15:48

Praying, Swaliswan, poor B, and poor you. I hope things improve for your household soon,. God is holding you.

Jaffacake, so sorry things are difficult with ds and church, who is judging him? (sorry must have missed earlier post) That's just horrible for you. Hope you can find a solution that works for you all and means you can somehow still get to worship yourself. Prayers.

mufti · 24/11/2010 16:07

Praying

amberlight · 24/11/2010 17:36

Praying too....

NorthernLurker · 24/11/2010 20:57

Oh dear I'm back with more prayer requests!

Latest is that my bil has finished the radiotherapy - so far, so good. What is not good is that the hospital have scheduled his chemo to start on Friday - the wedding is Saturday. I have just been speaking to my sister and urging her to ask explicitly how will he feel the day after and can they postpone if it is likely he will feel unwell. The oncologist (imo) is serving them very badly, I don't think he has been frank about the side effects and ultimate benefit of this treatment. I have been urging my sister to ask, to push, to get answers - to feel like they can put themselves forward with requests. My poor sister - she just went very quiet. I think I've worried her dreadfully - but knowing what I know I couldn't let them be sleepwalked in to treatment which may make him bloody ill on Saturday.
It may be that the chemo won't have effects till a few days afterwards - I don't know. The oncologist does and he in't helping them like I think he should.

Please pray - for intervention here. For a good day for my sister and bil, for appropriate treatment. for wisdom for me. I have given her my work number and told her to ring me either way. If things aren't going well I will have to get on the phone and try and help them sort them out.
This verse has come in to my head 'The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.' - it's me at the moment. I'm struggling to pray but after DO mentioned praising I've been trying to sing - and it's working a bit Smile I can't do this alone and I know I'm not alone Smile

MaryBS · 24/11/2010 22:02

NL I feel your pain. I have absolute trust in the power of the almighty though

gingercurl · 24/11/2010 23:19

Lurking and praying.

MaryBS · 25/11/2010 08:09
DutchOma · 25/11/2010 10:10

NL on a worldly level: nobody can MAKE a patient accept treatment, so your bil could refuse the treatment on Friday, saying that he will go for it on Monday or next Friday.

On a spiritual level, you have come such a long way, when you can ask for prayer, a prayer that will be heard and answered by Almighty God for the best.
No, you can't do this on your own and neither do you have to. I was carried along by the prayers of others and am only just beginning to come out the other end.
Try Ps 103.

madhairday · 25/11/2010 14:18

Praying NL.

amberlight · 25/11/2010 14:22

NL, yes, he's likely to feel very fatigued the day after first chemo, from what I hear from friends who've been through it. Depends what sort, and how he reacts to it. Keeping it in much prayer

And prayers continuing for everyone else too

mufti · 25/11/2010 14:29

Hi all

Well sis and bil had a good discussion with the oncologist yesterday (answer to prayer there!) He advised them not to delay and to be honest they don't want to anyway. He was very postive about bil not feeling too bad afterwards. They will give him some stuff to help with this and also the steroids he has should help. So that's ok. I've found I can pray about tomorrow - it's really odd actually - I feel sort of unblocked? Onwards we go. Thanks so much for the prayers yesterday. I had a major wobble, very tearful but I'm ok today.

Swaliswan - hope you had a better night.
Mufti - lovely birth news Smile

LBADG and NSFN - so sorry for your losses. That grief seems very close to me atm. I pray you will be upheld by our prayers as your prayers are upholding me.

Ok - on with day Smile

MaryBS · 26/11/2010 08:39

That sounds positive about sis and BIl, NL! Praying that the tears were cleansing. Can you be gentle with yourself today, give yourself chance to recover?

Praying for all...

DutchOma · 26/11/2010 10:05

NL What's the weather like? So glad to hear your news

madhairday · 26/11/2010 11:28

NL that's great. Sounds like you're really feeling God's presence where you need it. Continued prayers.

Swaliswan how are you today?

Mufti that's fantastic!

PA how are things going? Praying for you.

Mary praying, how are you doing today?

Things ok here. Dh off for a training weekend so on my ownsome which not looking forward to much but will do some christmas shopping with the dc.

Please pray for this situation I alluded to that happened in church last sunday, there is more fallout from it than I expected and very worried about a friend who is very new in faith. Please please pray, sorry the details are sketchy.
