Sniff of a new pup after months of waiting

We lost our last dog 6 years ago in very tragic circumstances and decided to wait till DD was older (I felt I couldn't bring up a toddler and a puppy at the same time).
So 2 years ago DH and I started the negotiation as to what breed we would have. We settled on a cockapoo, but DH only wanted a chocolate one.
So I am really fussy want optigen tested parents so there is no risk of PRA. I have patiently waited for four litters this year at different breeders and missed out on pups for a whole variety reasons. So having discovered this morning that there were no chocolate pups in a litter I started looking again. And found a puppy which if I like it is 8 weeks on Sunday. So I'm off on Sunday to look and maybe bring my new baby home.

Ooooh how exciting. And doubly exciting that you might be bringing pup home on the same day. We meet up with a cockapoo on the school run everyday and it is the fluffiest most scrumptious looking dog, a chocolate one will be even more gorgeous.

Fingers crossed for you and we will need photos.

my aunt has a cockapoo, totally not my type of dog normally but i love him! totally gorgeous and great with the kids! hope it goes well!

I was offered a cockerpoo recently after the owner was taken seriously ill. The 10 week old pup was gorgeous but we decided he was not the dog for us. I was so tempted though.

Good luck with meeting your pup on Sunday. I'm going to meet my pup at the weekend but he won't be able to come home with me just yet

Oh thank you everyone only 4 more sleeps to go. After months of waiting and disappointment I am not tempting fate and have just given my lovely Dad list of things I need to borrow ready if I take pup, don't want to tempt fate.

well Lizcat, what happened, did you bring the baby home?

Lizcat · 12/07/2010 15:39

The baby is home and unbelievably mostly house trained. He has had a couple of rides in the car today and already has that sorted you just settle down in your crate for the ride.
Proud mummy boasting about my clever boy.
