Hey girls. Long time poster, just not been around for a while due to life difficulties, which is why I am posting here.

We are right at the end of being evicted, been to court already and possession order has expired, now waiting on bailiff warrant.
I had a solemn promise from a 'so called' freind, who shouted for weeks that he would temporarily foster our cat for a couple of months while we go into bed n breakfast. Friend has let me down, didn't turn up and not even bothered to reply. It meant my cat would be stuffed halfway across the UK but as he is cat person, she would be looked after.

We are expecting the bailiff warrant any day now and cannot take her with us. I REFUSE to sell her as she is my best friend.
2 year old neutered female black cat to be temporarily fostered for approximately 2 months (ish). Good nature, fab temprement, brilliant sleeper and excellent fly catcher and mouser. And I will pay for litter, food and upkeep. I'm on benefits and paying a ton of money for storage but will pay for Lunagh cats upkeep.

Is there anyone out there who can help us keep our little mate, while everything else is being torn apart? Would love someone local so we can go and see her on a regular basis, but anything greatly accepted but must be a cat person.
I've tried cats protection but they are full up. There is no one else I can ask. No close friends here and no family.

Someone please give our cat a warm, safe loving home until we get rehoused by the council.

Bare with me and I'll put an email out to all my contacts in rescue and animal welfare to see if someone can help. If someone can of course I'll assist you in ensuring that they are checked out by rescue for suitability and naturally any decision is yours to make, I'll just be the messenger and helper.

Failing that I'm happy to help myself if she is confident with dogs and other cats. I'm in Cambs and can provide rescue references (am a dog rescue volunteer). Not ideal because I have other pets probably, but if it's possible, the offers there. Lets see who else might be better placed first though, if that's okay with you? Let me know if it's okay to send that email out (I don't need to go into personal detail, would just say that you are needing to move into temp accommodation for a couple of months or so).

D'oh! Did I really say "bare" with me?! Sorry!

PurpleOne · 11/06/2010 00:16

thanks vallhala, please send out the email.

LunaghCat was with another cat, and a dog before we took her in at 5 months old. She's used to kids too
I have had an offer of help via FB but they cannot help until middle of July, which I think will be too late by then.

Just for a couple of months is all I ask, I will send postal orders for her food, litter and worming cream etc.
She's not had her jabs but I think I can sort that asap, as long as I have the cash to do it via PDSA.

Anywhere is fine, just as long as I can get my moglet back when we get rehoused. Just as long as she is loved, petted, fed and has somewhere warm to curl up. All her things have been packed for days!

Thanks again. Really much appreciated.

xx

So sorry things sound so difficult for you. I can't look after your cat (although i would love to) as my kids are v allergic, but it's so important that you don't lose her with everything els you are dealing with. I will email around friends for you.

Good luck.

Vallhala · 11/06/2010 01:25

Have emailed, not to as many as I'd like, but I lost my documents-filed contact list when my laptop blew up recently, so have had to go through literally hundreds of addresses stored by my email provider to identify the rescue ones. Its a pain as some contacts are friends of friends so to speak and just detailed by their own names so I can't promise that I remember them all!

Will have another go in the morning and send out some more mails. Meantime, sleep well, cos I really need my bed!

PurpleOne · 11/06/2010 01:37

thankyou so much, just a safe home for my moglet for a couple of months would matter so much to me right now. She is a family pet.

I will pay for things. Just a safe home for her for a little while would mean so much.

Right, I have a lady in Huntingdon who can help. She's Sophie, an approved, checked rescuer - I've worked with her myself, getting an old, ill, untreated Akita out of the pound and to her house when rescue was full and no other bugger would help (we had a battle between us as to who was going to take Sheena, but the other lady won, having no dog of her own at the time!).

Sophie's last foster cat has just left, so your timing is good. She has a 5mo pup, no children and the one downside is that she can only offer help for 8 weeks max. If no-one else comes along and you are otherwise happy with Sophie then please do check me out too and if your re-housing takes more than 8 weeks I'll happily look after Lunagh for the remaining time.

Please give me a shout at alfaalfa AT live DOT co DOT uk if this is of interest, and let me know on here that you've mailed me as that's not my usual email but one set up for this kind of forum use, so I tend to forget to check it!

Will give you my usual one, phone number, references on me and so on when I hear from you.

HTH

Val

Bumping in the hope that the OP is about.

Vallhala · 11/06/2010 17:45

PS Please reply on here initially as I can't get into any of my sodding Hotmail accounts, am just getting a blank page.

PurpleOne · 11/06/2010 22:26

Oh sounds lovely, thankyou very much for your hard work.
Will send you a mail sometime tonight.

Not worried about references or anything, just that Lunagh goes to a safe, loving home for a little while.

Talk soon, and thankyou again, so much appreciated.

Fantastic. MN at its best.
I would have loved to help but my cat can't cope with other cats.

JodieO · 12/06/2010 17:34

Glad you got sorted. I would offer but not sure how our 2 cats would take it, also have a very lively dog.

JodieO · 12/06/2010 17:34

Oh and the fact that we're in Cambridge, forgot to say that!

Lovesdogsandcats · 12/06/2010 21:29

What did you mean by 'refuse to sell her'? Do peoplr=e even buy non pedigree cats with so many given away?

PurpleOne · 15/06/2010 00:51

I mean, I refuse to sell her as she's my best friend. And, once she's sold theres no chance in getting her back is there?
Eviction is not her fault and I would like to keep her!

Valhala, my data on dongle is running dangrously low so havent been able to email.
Going to 2 viewing tomorrow (and its payday), so if still no luck, I will be mailing the lady in question asap.

Can't thankyou enough x

No problem at all, my pleasure. I hope very much that you find the ideal house and meantime will email Sophie to keep her updated.

Good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
