Am very shocked that my dog's pet insurance policy has doubled!

He's fit and only 3 years old. I must've been on silver standard with healthy pets, was paying 7.90. This week I recieved my new policy which starts 12th June. It's now over £15pm!! I've not been informed about this they just suddenly announce it?
So when I rang seems they've upped me to gold standard without asking. Silver is now around £11pm mark. I was going to cancel but I've put it down to bronze which is just over £6 a month.

I feel it's really sneaky as some people may not be so vigilant. I'm always checking my online banking so I know exactly what my bills should be.

The cheek of the woman on the phone though she sounded very off when I mentioned I wanted to cancel.

Ring round other places. Pet insurance seems to be like car insurance, you get a good deal for the first year but then not so good. Though also due to the fact that your dog is getting older so it increases the premium I guess.

I've just cancelled my cats insurance with Morethan
He's 14 and the premium had gone up to £25 a month and the excess was £50 plus 20% of the vets fees on top of that. I think I will try and put some money by instead. Besides his jabs last year he had to have treatment for an abscess that cost approx £70 so I didn't even bother claiming ...

Yes I've only been with them one year. He's just gone 3 and I've never claimed. The excess is £75 too. I was thinking of doing the same as you loobylou2?
