OMFG dog has just eaten a bag of sugar

I made a cup of tea came into the living room because baby was crying go back in and my Labrador has got a full bag of sugar down and eaten it.

Will he be alright or will he be hyper active.

Sorry went back in because ds said does harry like having sugar for dinner.

Don't know but my MIL's dog ate 30 eggs a month ago and didn't poo for 3 weeks.

Actually eaten it? Is it not spilt? TBH I would go to the vets, that much sugar would be a hell of a shock to the system, can't you go into comas from too much sugar...?

I have checked and he has eaten about a quarter of a pack the rest is spilled under his bed I was only out of the kitchen for a minute so I don't think he could have eaten to much.

I hope he doesn't need to go to the vet dp is away on a course today and I don't drive our local vets is a long way away.

I'm sure a lab can cope with that. Probably be a bit hyper and then crash...so you probably won't tell the difference from normal lab behaviour!

Eeeek that is a LOT. Ummm, vet may want to slip her some insulin, as dhre will have decimated her own supply and might go into hyperglycemia, but phone and speak to them.

Quarter of a pack ok, I would put the dog outside with a big bowl of water and wait for the vomit!

I was thinking he'd eaten a full kilo.

I have checked with vet she seems to think he should be fine. But to keep an eye on him, have put him outside with water so I can clean the spilled sugar up.
