Like any dog, if you train and socialise them properly, they will be good, friendly dogs, it depends on the individual dog and it's upbringing really.

However, I think children are better off with slightly larger dogs sometimes, as toy breeds can be very delicate and being dropped, hit with a football etc, could be serious for a tiny dog.

I really wouldn't recommend Yorkies for a family with children under 10 or so.

They don't tend to like children,they can be quick to snap being a terrier breed and they're relatively fragile.Children can be too rough and boisterous around them.
