Olivia the hamster is no more <sad>...words needed for hammie burial

After a long, hard fought, lop sided battle, following her stroke..Olivia the dwarf hammie has popped her clogs..
I'm relieved,... she wasn't happy, wasn't running about anymore...
ds2 however, is heartbroken.
I've dug the hole, she's in box...now I need suitably sombre words to appease ds2. any suggestions gratefully received

Goodbye our little furry friend
This is a beginning, not the end
Off to Hammie Heaven you go
Away from cold and rain and snow
Sunflower seeds and peanuts await
Sunshine and laughter for our very best mate

ah so sorry op hammie is in the hammie meadowwith all her friends in the sun and eating endless amounts of sunflowe seeds I have only ever had one hammie many years ago I was very upset when he died,especially when someone said "its just a hamster" they are your pet it does not matter if dog cat or horse if you love them. also difficult fo little children to understand

Aw - yes it's hard, especially seeing the dc upset. Poor ds.

RIP Olivia

It's heartbreaking when their first pet goes isn't it. My youngest DS who was 4 when our cat expired said "who's going to be my best friend now?" Having been stoic and brave I then burst into tears - pathetic really, but it was so sad.
