Cat owners, Can you advise me on suitable floor cleaners?

Hello
What product do you use to clean your floors? I have laminate flooring and the cleaner I have been using isn't ideal for cats.

I'm no use to you, I'm afraid. I use the same specialist cleaner we used at the vets - so Bella's house always smells like the surgery

i have nevere even thought of what cleaning product to use.

Have some wood, some slate, some ceramic, some laminate and use any old floor cleaner, including bleach.

My cat is in his 17th year.

Thanks. It just came from asking on here yesterday what is best to clean the litter tray with, and then last night, I read the cleaner bottle. I've been using direct to floor stuff. The tesco own brand version of dettol. Will just make up a thin bleach mix. Or I could use the baby sterilising solution couldn't I?

i also use the tesco direct to floor without problems, and use it in the dogs room too.

Oh, ok. So if your cat's 17, then the floor cleaner isn't toxic then.
I'll finish the bottle

well i have just read the bottle and it says that cats should not walk on the wet floor (cats don't like wet) and not to lick the floor which has been treated, I dont think mine would lick the floor.

So, bearing all that in mind, i would think you would be fine.

Thanks. They were on the wet floor last night. I haven't noticed them licking the floor though

The general rule of thumb is that if your cleaner turns cloudy in water don't use it for cleaning around cats, e.g bleach fine, disinfectant bad. To clean my floors I use a splash of bleach in hot water with washing up liquid.
