Hi
New to Pets corner.
We bought a 4 yr old from rescue centre last weekend.
He is lovely and seems to be settling well apart from not eating very well (but I understand that is just his anxiety)
Yesterday when I got up and came into him he started coughing like he was going to be sick. This happened again when we came home from the supermarket and again this morning.

We were given a leaflet on kennel cough from the rescue centre but I am unsure whether it is advising me to take dog to vets.

Any advice would be gratefully received

Take him to the vet.

Agree with scienceteacher. But please leave him in the car whilst you tell the vet about the symptoms. KC is VERY contagious so he shouldn't be in the waiting room with other dogs. Hope he's better soon.

Vet asap.

Highly contagious so keep him away from other dogs.

My partner rang the Rescue Centre for advice first thing - they said it didnt sound like Kennel Cough because it only happened first thing. He hasnt coughed since apart from when he got back from the shops at lunchtime.

I will ring him now & tell him to ring the vet.
Thanks for advice.
