Our neighbours new labrador is locked in an enclosure at the bottom of the garden and howling

DH got chatting over the fence to the neighbours whose garden backs on to ours yesterday. They have just got a labrador, I think he said it was 20 weeks old. It's now out in the garden in a gated section at the bottom, it's about 3m square. It's whining and pawing the ground and almost howling. I haven't got a clue about dogs, is there a reason for them doing this?

Ok, fair enough. Can't hear him from indoors, so it's not particularly annoying. It just sounds so sad! Think I'll have to toughen up before dd hits toddler tantrum stage!
