Hopefully that thread title should catch your eye . But seriously new kitten has stinky bum - it's not dirty just stinky. Did you manage to solve the problem or will it just go away as she matures

lol -she's definitely hiding from the title

I think I remember asking this question before - does it only smell up close or from a distance? (Cannot believe I am asking this again )

Hah bit surreal isn't it! Just when she wafts her derriere past you as she pads around you.

I think I saw cheesesarnie on chat recently - you could try there.

If nothing else it would be an interesting chat topic!

Do cats have anal glands like dogs do, they can smell really bad?

Stayfrosty euwwwwwwwww at having to manually evacuate! That is so not happening any time soon. You may be right about stress thing because I haven't noticed it so much in the last few days, maybe she is more settled. The main gripe I have is that she keeps standing on her poo in the litter tray whilst trying to cover it up - aarrgh! Have now bought a bigger tray (the first one was only kitten size and am wondering if it was too small?) Currently I am hovering and covering it up for her! And then grabbing her and checking her paws - I hope she gets the hang of it soon or I will cry!
