We have a dachshund - a standard black and tan and she is wonderful. Her coat is all soft and velvety and she loves cuddles.

DD is rather specific and has had name picked out for years.
have loads of small puppy stuff from my sister already so will only have to get a bed new. and toys of course. this is better than baby shopping. what else can i get it?

Cute collar, lead and tag, although your dd might want to help choose these, my dd (3.6) loved choosing toys for our puppy!

My suggestion would be a crate. My Ddog loved it when he was a puppy - it became a haven for him when the DSDs got rowdy and he wanted to sleep...

Also REALLY good for housetraining!!!

got pen. and bed to sleep in. am getting afew toys/chewy things laer. DD will want to choose collar so leaving that.
