Dog clippers - which are the best ones to buy?

I have 2 very hairy springers and have bought various clippers over the years - not terribly expensive ones i admit, but want to buy some which wont go blunt or just glide through the hair without cutting it!

Any advice welcome, as maybe i am doing it wrong anyway.

You need Andis or another expensive brand. Cant remember the name. I do know you need to pay over a hundred for a decent pair.

oh thanks so much for responding. will look it up. Dont mind paying a higher price it will still beat the cost of sending them off to the barbers every few weeks!!

hercules - have you used the Andis ones yourself? Were they easy and did they clip through the most hairy of beasts?!!
