Please help me brainstorm names for my new kitten which we’ll be getting at the weekend. It’s a boy, he’ll be 12 weeks old and he’s totally black. I don’t have a picture of him to share (I promise I’ll add one when we get him home!) but picture a gorgeous black cutie.
I would like a name that’s not too common, and generally am not a fan of popular human names for cats. Our last cat was called Goji, as a steer for the kind of name we’ve gone for in the past, but it doesn’t need to be as unusual as that.
I like names that sound not too silly when you’re calling the cat in for its tea, and names that can be shortened / made into a nickname are good too. My two daughters like the more cutesy names (see: Tiddles below!) but I’m not such a fan. We’re finding it really hard to find something we all love.
Some ideas on the list at the moment: Pickle, Mickey, Jasper, Tigger, Boo, Smudge, Pedro, Tiddles, Ziggy, Pluto, Otis, Kit, Calvin, Marley, Miso, Basil, Otto, Frankie.
