We are having to rehome our 19 month old dog, for financial reasons and the poor thing is left home alone most weekends and is in doggy daycare mon-fri so she's going to a home with other dogs and a family with older children. Mine are 8 and 4. We've had the dog since a puppy and discussed the reasons why with my children and they are happy but it breaks my heart. I know the sadness will be short lived but I'd like to hear other parents stories of hour their children dealt with the situation!
