Might be a mix of dogs but I can´t think how to google it! Am looking - any help would be great.

The dog I want to get is larger than a fox terrier but looks similar with similar markings in black or brown. Just abit smaller than a young lab in size if that helps!

Thanks

Border Terrier?

PortBlacksandResident · 19/05/2008 09:18

airdale?

Papillon · 19/05/2008 09:22

I just looked at wire fox terrier they have the white and brown markings and are bigger. Maybe the dog I have seen has a wire foxy crossed with a short haired dog.

its not the airdale or border tho... thanks

I have a friend with a dog similar to what you describe. He's a patterdale/irish terrier cross.

www.petplanet.co.uk have breed profiles, usually with pics you could browse

Thanks for the links, the plummer terrier looks more like what I am after, especially the markings. The one I saw was more delicate though.. I am looking for a mongrel mix.

This has all helped loads

We so want a plummer terrier, we are on the look out for one at the moment. Ds want its name to be either ... Spider or Beetle. oh well, its better than twinkletoes, which is what the cat is named.

mobileslostisitinthefreeze · 19/05/2008 21:12

I thought a plummer was a jack russell cross beagle. look here and here

Papillon · 19/05/2008 21:36

The Plummer is nice but still bit smaller than what I am after... maybe I need plummer with wire fox terrier to get the size up.

Have been thinking to put my name down at the pound and start searching that way. My neighbour go the cat she wanted through the pound.

Not sure about names yet tho, we did have a kitten until we found its owner and it had about 4 names!

how about a smooth haired fox terrier?

Please don't get a dog just based on it's appearance. You need to choose a dog with a personality that you like and that is suitable for your lifestyle.
