Hello to everyone,

I am in a dire situation and need a good cattery to take my 2 fur babies to. Mr. Mao and Suzy Wong have never been to a cattery before but the circumstances require so and I'm really worried they will be unhappy and catch something. I only have 4 days left to find a cattery, so please dear Mumsnetters, recommend catteries which you have used before and were happy with. Thank you so much!

I am happy to recommend Wey Farm near Woking.

There is a lovely one in N6 - Elite I think it was - our cat used to sleep on the owners bed, because 'he needed looking after' apparently ?

ScienceT, I know Wokingham, that's it, no? I will check it out. Dp and I wanted to buy a house there a while ago. Know the area a bit, thank you!

Katy, I heard of Elite but didn't know if I could trust them. So your cat was fine? Sounds like a life of leisure...sleeping on the bed for cuddles...

My two cats are house cats so it's best for them if they were not allowed out.

Thanks for the tips! I'll gogle them tomorrow. Will hunt for more advice just in case those two catteries are full...

Elite had my Siamese & my mum's (3-legged) Siamese and they were very well looked after (& talked to)

Thanks so much for helping me! I have just had my little monkeys vaccinated again and will visit the catteries on the WE.

Unless it's changed recently, Elite keeps them in very small cages.

Goodness me - I've just worked out it was 10 yrs ago we were there (& my cat was on the bed)

Sorry

Have you thought about getting someone to come into your home and look after them.

After visiting a cattery and seeing the tiny cages I was really upset and looked up Pet Sitters on the net. Found the most amazing woman in SE London (bit far from you but think pet sitters is Nationwide) mine are indoor cats so going outside wasn't a problem. She would come in every day, feed and water them, do the cat litter tray and also spend some time "chatting" to them. I know this as she was a real animal lover. It cost about £7 a day but well worth it.

If you have no luck with the one in wokingham, I can recommend Freer Farm in Godstone, surrey (just off the M25, jct 6)

this is their contact information
