Maybe 4!!

My cat went missing 3 weeks ago. We had just about given up when I noticed a poster with a picture of him on it today!! He had been caught in a cat trap and taken to a local vets!! Because he's not chipped ( yet!!) they couldn't contact us and relied on posters and radio appeals.

Apparently 3 times they went to put him down but because he was so loving they couldn't bring themselves to! Thank goodness because i spotted a poster today and he is safely home

Just wanted to share this with ........anyone really

Who trapped him and why??? If he accidentally was caught in a trap designed for a feral cat they should have just released him back out to go home again, not taken him away from his local area. It is not really appropriate to go rounding up random cats and running off to the vets with them - unless of course they are injured in which case of course they must take him. Fair enough cat traps are required to catch some strays, but unless they truely thought him to be stray it all seems a bit odd to me. If they thought him stray they would not have gone to the effort of advertising him would they????

Glad you have him back though.

I'm not in the UK beautifulgirls. Cat-traps are standard pracitce out here in Cyprus.

He has an appointment on Monday!! We have also decided to bring him back to the UK as we missed him so much so he will be rabies jabbed too

Aaaaw! So glad you got him back, bless him! I love hearing good news like this

Ah - sad they do that so much. Nice to hear he is coming home. Are you bringing him home on the pet passport scheme or going to put him into quarantine? If you do the pet passport thing are you aware you can not return him to the UK until 6 months after the rabies blood test has shown an acceptable response?

McDreamy · 15/03/2008 17:06

Yes we are doing the pet passport, yes I realise it will be 6 months post rabies response (found out in the last couple of days!!!!). We have plenty of friends here that will keep him for a few weeks or so if necessary but DH probably won't be back until October, it's just the children and I who are coming home in July/August so it should all work out.

He is fast asleep on DD's bed. She is so pleased to have her buddy back
