just found some lumps on the back of my dogs neck - what are they?

There are 3 small lumps, each about half the size of a pea, 2 have dark reddish pigmentations. They are definitely not ticks. But they are in roughly the place where frontline gets dolloped on him every couple of months. They don't seem to be painful to touch in that he didn't growl or pull away when I peered and prodded at them. Does anyone know what they might be? Does it merit a trip to the vet for an otherwise healthy dog? (his next scheduled trip to the vet is in May for his vaccinations)

Roskva, how strange you posted this...I noticed a pea size lump recently just like yours on the hip of my cocker spaniel. exactly the same with the pigment as well...
I phoned my vet friend today, she said leave it for 3 or 4 weeks if it stays the same, bring her in and we'll have a look. If it grows bring her in, but hopefeully it'll just disappear. She's only 4 and completely healthy btw...

It's sort of reassuring knowing that mine isn't the only dog with lumps. Just out of curiosity, do you both use frontline?

is frontline in a white bottle?

Some dogs are quite prone to cysts.

I'd get them checked out though.

I used to use frontline but stopped because it didn't seem to work any better than the cheap stuff....
