pardon the pun. could not resist. this is about my cat not my fange, I have a 7 month old ginger tom named dexter. Dexter has had a go at the tinsel draped around the mantlepiece and pulled down one of those candles in a glass that have loads of hot runny wax in them. now he's covered in it. He's doing his best to make out he's not bothered but some of it looks like it might be a bit sore where its gone really clumpy, its also rather scented. What should i do? I'm thinking i might actually have to clipper the lot off. thaks for ant suggestions....

did he get burned?

baby oil works on leg wax

i mean normally one would iron it off with brown paper but not really an option here

not a job I would want on new year's eve

hairdryer? hairstraightener with brown paper?

candypandy · 30/12/2007 21:59

can you nutcracker the lumps without hurting the cat so they crumble off?

candypandy · 30/12/2007 22:01

if it's on the cat's skin baby oil will def help to soothe and possibly remove

plainly am doing anything to avoid visitors

good luck x

greaseproof paper and an iron!!!

only kidding, no idea but hope he is ok..

candypandy · 30/12/2007 22:05

water as warm/hot as the cat can bear it?

thanks for suggestions, given the amount I think if I went for the hot appliance/brown paper method i would be putting him in the george foreman. he seems to have got some of the worst of it off overnight, as there are now bits of wax and fur on most of the soft furnishings in the house. oh joy.

Ice will harden it and make it easier to break off

discoverlife · 31/12/2007 11:49

Clip him and get the sympathy vote.

I'd give him a short back and sides personally. If the skin is sore underneath it should really be seen by a vet too.
