What's actually the best thing to do with the cat on move day?

Options I've considered but can't decide on...

Keeping her in the bathroom all day - but there's only one, and she might bolt when someone goes in for a wee

Putting her in a neighbours secure garden office all day

Sending her to my parents for the weekend to be shut in a spare room - but again, chance for bolting in an unfamiliar house and hiding

Cattery - but she's never been to one before

She's going to be unsettled enough as it is with a move to a much bigger house (I will shut her in one room for the first few days with familiar blankets and Felliway) so want to make it as easy as possible for her.

What works best?

I would say cattery, preferably for a couple of days, or given you have the option the neighbours garden office. Definitely not in the house. So many cats go missing on moving day.

Cattery - no chance of bolting and she'll be in a calm environment. The only thing to be aware of is opening hours and when you'll need to drop her off and pick up.

Cattery. Don’t worry she’s never been before. Ours had never been before but went for first time this year and was fine. The reality is cats eat and then sleep … then repeat. She’ll be calm and warm and fed.

I have noticed our cat doesn’t like it when we have visitors or change things around so moving house will be stressful. Better to introduce her to your new home when things are calmer.

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you all - I'll try and book a cattery for her.
