" I don" t feed my cat, I don't have time to feed my cat"

In all my long life …

Boycat got out again ( see thread on missing cat) and my other cats are still awol.

I talked with family and was advised to call the man whose starving cat I feed. As he knows everyone and all that goes on here.

Caught him on the hop and during the conversation reminded him that HIS cat is here an he could take him home whenever he liked - but he had to feed him.
And the header is what came out

Followed by ( and this is the man who deals with the shopping) I added that I feed his cat and mine
"I know YOU do as I bring in a great load of cat food for you every time."

He does not realise that the six boxes of chicken portions are also for the cats each week.

Tonto was skin and bone when he first came to me. You know when you feel a cat just in front of the hip bone? My finger and thumb nearly met.
So unless he caught something?
This man is a farmer whose cattle are superbly cared for, Ditto their dogs. Cash crop and the dog helps herd them

By the time I hung up he was stuttering. I am here six years and they know how much I care for the cats here. There was another stray, Tonto's father, left I think when the owner died. They brought him here of course, and that is fine.

Shell shocked and I thought I was past being shocked. He really thinks feeding a cat is optional.

Anyways we shall see. I have never spoken to him in this manner before so it had effect. And I quoted someone in authority.

I know how you are feeling Solo, but hang in there ..boycat may turn up yet. Cats are funny old things. I too look after 2 old farm strays who would have starved as their owner had passed away and no one else was interested or cared ..I even managed to get one neutered, so no more kittens thankfully ..keep doing what you do Daffodil

Boycat may come back. They like wandering. I had one who used to travel all over the place but knew where his home was.

It seems dreadful to me for somebody to have an animal and not feed it.

I knew somebody years ago who believed cats could forage for their food. Maybe they can but why would you want them to do that? It's nice to feed them, then you don't have to worry too much about them searching for food far afield.
