Hi I'm hoping I can get some advice on pet insurance for my 12 year old dog she has pre existing conditions. I have been looking online and to be honest I'm totally confused does anyone know any uk pet insurance what covers a senior dog and will pay out with/and on pre existing conditions my vet has concerns about her kidneys (picked it up on a routine senior blood test) so friday I took a urine sample in and the vet said she had high protine in so can indicate her kidneys aren't functioning properly so I have got her booked in for this monday for a ultrasound. My dog is really happy jumps around like she is still a puppy and loves her food so if it wasnt for the blood test I wouldn't of known anything is wrong, I think this is going to be an expensive condition to treat way out of my price range with more blood tests ect so I'm hoping I can get pet insurance I dont want to have to let her go prematurely because like i said she is her normal happy self and want to give her the best chance so any advice would be appreciated thankyou for reading

You won't get anything that will pay out on pre existing conditions.

Bought By Many do a pre-existing conditions policy but even that will not apply in the circumstances you describe.

You won’t find an insurance company to cover your dog in these circumstances. You need an honest discussion with your vet about her age and the cost of various tests, what benefit they have for her.

It’s worth working out how much you’ve ‘saved’ by not paying for insurance over the years. My okd rescue cross breed wasn’t insured. The cost of his vet bill in his final few months were similar to what I’d have paid if I had insured him.
