Cats had an accident, lifting leg and swollen foot

Hi all,

So last night my cat had some sort of accident outside she came in limping, with one leg raised. I tried to check her over and it’s not the leg it’s the foot that’s the problem. She didn’t seem to be in much paid unless I touched the foot to which she would moan. Now this morning her foot has began to swell. I’m seriously panicking.
I’m one of the stupid ones that don’t have pet insurance! I’m on maternity leave earning pennies. I’m not eligible for help because of my partners wage but we literally scrape by each month and we have eaten through all of our savings. Neither of us is eligible for a credit card and I’m sitting here now thinking I’m going to have to take the cat to the vets ! I literally have £8 to my name and my partner has £30. Non of my family can help. I don’t know what to do !!!! What am I going to do if she needs an operation! Even just the consultation and an x ray im looking at £200.
Any vets who can give advise.

Thanks

How is your cat today? Did you take her to the vet?

Do you have a PDSA near you?

She really does need to see a vet. A lot of them do payment plans.

A vet will euthanize your cat cheaply. Problem solved. Hmm

Did it start swelling shortly after the limp or much later? My DC went through a phase of attacking wasps with varying degrees of success. It took us a while to figure out what the daft animal was up to. It's been too wet and windy here for there to be many around but if your neighbours have apple trees or evergreens in flower...

Wishing the cat a speedy recovery anyway.
