Do pet shops / animal rescue shelters want towels?

I have so many used but cleaned and stain free towels - mainly ones that are young child size- that I no longer need. Do you think the above places would want them? I asked a couple of friends who have dogs but they didn't want them.
I hate just throwing stuff away in the bin.

Definately contact an animal resue - I've given towels to local ones

My local one took towels gratefully. Best thing is just call them and ask. Some shelters also list things they need on their websites.

Animal rescues may well want them. Also consider dog owner friends.
