Cat just sleeping all day, no interest in food 🙁

My 5 year old Persian has in the last two days slept all day and not woken for food. She usually spends all day nagging me ( she has to have 4 small meals a day as she’s only tiny and has the runs if she eats big meals)
She doesn’t present as ‘ill’ she’s asleep in her usual position, looks very happy asleep, not hunched over, wakes and purrs if I stroke her but falls back to sleep again and has missed 2 meals today. Should I be worried? 🙁

Yes, I’d have had a vet appointment after 24 hrs.

Has she had any water? Do you know how to check if a cat is dehydrated?

Has she used her litter tray?
Purring can be a sign of pain and cats are very good at masking it.
She may have a dental problem
Does she go outside? Could she have come into contact with something poisonous?

Sorry lots of questions but process of Elimination. You need to get her checked tomorrow I would say depending on those answers about possibly tonight.

Yes. My Persian had triaditis. The only symptom was that she was still in the same place she'd been when I'd left for work earlier. When I picked her up she cried and she didn't eat her favourite treat. She was critically ill and it was a miracle that she survived. Vets tonight.

She did a poo in her litter tray this afternoon, and has just followed me to to the kitchen and cried for food. Turned her nose up at her usual sachet but handfed her about 5 bits of chicken which she ate. I’m at a loss.

The crossed paws is her happy pose, which is how she’s been sleeping. I’ve seen her I’ll before and she was crouched over, definitely not happy. Perhaps it’s a picky phase?

I really think she needs a vets opinion. Ours had an abscess on his head once, I didn’t know and ran a furminator over it, he barely flinched. It must have been agony.

She’s just eaten more chicken and some of her sachet and is now washing herself in front of the fire. I think she’s ok 🙏

I'd still get her checked- it might be nothing but then as well the vets will have it recorded if it happens again?

Ahhh they are beautiful! She seems much more herself today, eaten breakfast and now wanting food again. Think she’s going through a picky stage....
