We're hoping to get a Gpig soon, where is the best place to get a home for one?
Would they be ok living outside if they have lots of hay and straw to keep warm?

Any hints and tips on how to care for your Gpig?

There is a big retail chain called 'Pets At Home' that has a big selection of hutches and runs to choose from - and you can also google 'guinea pig hutches' and see a big variety online, and see what would suit you best.
They are expensive though, and I wonder whether a local pet shop or e bay would advertise second hand hutches?
Pets At Home has a helpful website about guinea pig care, and most pet shops sell books about it - or you could get one from the library.

My guinea pig when I was a child lived outdoors all year - he had a little house within his hutch and several layers for hay and sawdust. But someone on Mn had a bad experience with straw - the guinea pig got some poked in his eye, I think.

After some sniffing around at work I have managed to get a 1yo male Gpig and a hutch for free and a run off freecycle
I have got newspaper to line the hutch, sawdust and some hay for the little critter. Some Gpig food and a grape mineral lick thing
'Marmite' should be arriving tomorrow
