how long til my new kittens come out of their hidey holes?

they've been here for about 4 hours and they have yet to emerge from behind the tv. I'm worried that they are hungry / thirsty? poor things must be terrified of us!

Mine hid behind the sofa for ages! I left some food out for them and left the room so they could come out in the quiet. Did the trick.

Our kitten was in his corner for a few weeks- but he was rescued and in a bad way. There's a good cahnce they'll be nocturnal for a while though- its a gradual thing with them. PAtience and they'll be snuggly in no time

When we had kittens they hid under a chest of drawers for days, leave food/water nearby and a cardboard box lined with old jumpers.Try putting a small clock under the jumpers/blankets if they do go in there to sleep the ticking of the clock sounds like their mother's heart beat and is comforting for them.

put the cardboard box on it's side with blankets/jumpers in the bottom making a little den for them.

that's a good idea ledodgy, the clock- will remeber that for our next stray LOL (Dh is blanching at the thought... )

Another thing I do is to keep a small toy with me until it has my smell (down pyjamas does the trick!) and then let them have that in their corner

well, they've still not emerged in the presence of any of us. but they came out in teh night and ate and weed in the litter tray (big sigh of relief there, didn;t fancy training them, seems they are already are). dds are so desperate to see them properly - it's hard to explain to them.

mine sat behind the microwave for a day, a tiny triangle of space! then under the table for the next few!
