we are getting him in a few weeks - any ideas?
i like real solid names as this little fella is going to be big and chunky when he grows up!
i'm not really keen on the "chocolate" names like "cadbury" etc but prefer scottish/celtic names like hamish, brodie, angus for example.
i also like the idea of a possibly foreign word that refers to his colour, like "bruno".
any suggestions welcome!!

Ggirl, I've always wanted a cat called Rover! Pulled back when we got ours as the previous owner had already inflicted a joke name on her, poor thing.

auntymandy, have you got low blood sugar, you seem to be on sweetie/food theme!

there'a site here that has dog names/meanings. Good for a giggle.
Can't really see myself shouting 'Acapulco! Down!' across a crowded park

Devonshire · 13/01/2007 20:45

Ralph is a great name for a dog - it means wolf!

frumpymummy · 13/01/2007 21:37

DH reckons go for french tree names !!
Marron - Horse Chestnut (Mah-rhon)
Chataigner - Sweet Chestnut (Sha-tay-nay)
Chene - Oak (Sh-enn)

Alternatively, maybe Teak, Umber, Treacle (maybe a bit girly for a boy), Coffee, Mocha, Bruges, Swiss, Thornton, .....

He's really insisting I suggest ChoccaMocca and Pooh , sorry !!!!

I wish he wasn't watching over my shoulder as he's not stopping suggesting things now

Our DD has had her first chocolate tonight, so looks rather like a chocolate lab herself LOL so maybe Alex !!!!
