guineapig long hair or short hair?

My dcs want to get two guineapigs. Just wonder are guineapigs with long hair are more difficult to look after?

I'd defo go short. Long hair needs regular grooming, can be come matted and poo can get caught in it. Not really massive issues as all easily overcome with good care, but daily grooming is a must.

Thanks coconutjoe, that s what I thought. Although the long hair guineapigs look lovely but it is the poo and wee stay on their hair I am worried about.

Don't you also need to trim long haired guinea pigs hair every so often? It keeps growing doesn't it?
