Dp and I have very differing views on this, we have two young cats who insist on being in which ever room we are in. This has led to some awkward situations...

Depends on the pet. Hamster yes, cat or dog no.

We always kick the cats out. Very off-putting having them in the same room.

Yes. We have a very spoilt cat. He sleeps on the bed. At weekends when we have a lay in and dtd in the mornings he gets up early, goes out, then invariably comes back in at an inappropriate moment. We would have much less sex if we waited til the cat wasn't there.

He is my cat really (had him before the hubster) and i would happily shut him out but DH, bless him, thinks its mean.

Also if you try to shut the cats out they wail, which is a little off putting.

Yes, have had the same experience as VikingLady with cats watching and looking disapproving... Have also been leapt on in the middle and had to firmly shoo cat away. They don't seem to hold it against us

the cat and dog have learned that when we shut the bedroom door they are to wait until its "safe" the dog caught us once and looked very confused. nothing worse than opening ur eyes to find ur being watched by a cat either!

No, I wouldn't have sex, if any of the pets were in the room - not on purpose anyway.

Dcat can break into the bedroom - he's never done it at an inopportune moment, but a previous cat did once stroll up dh's back (dh was under the duvet), and peer quizzically at me over dh's shoulder - that did put me of my stroke a bit!

Both my dogs sleep in our room.

Big dog gets up and walks out in disgust whenever we start getting frisky.

The cat was outside the other night and the meowing was putting me off a bit. I asked DP to go and let him in. He said "its ok, in about half an hour I'll be completely oblivious to the noise". And he was. I had to get up and let the bugger in. Must get a cat flap.

My dsis has a friend whose dog decided to join in and give her dh a treat.

No. Now that I have a cat, I'm not sure what my hypothetical answer would have been.
Last August I was just having a petting session, trying to get back "in the swing of things" in the living room. To say that the cat was a vibes cramper extraordinaire would be an understatement.
I now uphold my cat's right to a life separate from my intimate life. She made her feelings clear!
