Another food allergy death

Recently in the news is the story of Benedict Blythe, a 5 year old who passed away at his school after experiencing anaphylaxis.

Not only was this gorgeous boy a much loved son and brother, he was a genius and member of Mensa. Sadly, none of this made a difference and he passed away after suspected exposure to one of his allergens within a matter of hours.

His parents have set up a petition to ensure school staff are better equipped to deal with allergic reactions and have proper training.

About 1 child in every classroom is now thought to have a serious food allergy.

Benedict was his name. He passed away in 2021.
