MPs to debate petition about rights to protest - share your views

On Monday 26 April, MPs will debate this petition in the House of Commons, and a Government Minister will respond.

Your responses to this survey will help MPs to understand concerns about new police powers relating to protests. The Petitions Committee might publish a summary of survey responses, which could include some or all of your comments, and MPs may read them out in the House of Common. What MPs say may be reported in the press and appear on the news, so please don't share any personal information that you don't want to be public.

I saw this shared by Claire Fox on Twitter, but I’m not 110% sure it’s legit or not? I answered it anyway. But it doesn’t have any of those disclaimer/consent things that you tend to get at the beginning of legit surveys

Well, well, well - seems that the HoC or those who run the Petition web site have been paying attention to discussions and law cases about monitoring sex not gender.

From the petition:

    Prefer not to say

If you answered "No", please enter the term you use to describe your gender. This is also voluntary, so you can leave it blank if you prefer.

Not saying its perfect but a good deal better than just about any other recent public body survey - including the census.

Ah it was just the smartsurvey link being shared on Twitter. I didn’t see it initially at the bottom of the petition page. Phew!

This isn't a thread asking people to sign a petition. It is a thread to discuss the purpose of the petition and the opportunity to provide info to MPs.
