Revoke the right of sex offenders from changing their names

Hi Everyone 👋 I've been running a campaign to stop convicted sex offenders from changing their names, along with The Safeguarding Alliance.

With everyone's help we've managed to get over 12,000 signatures 😊 Still got a long way to go to get 100,000 needed to get this debated in parliament.

I've also done an interview with Jason Farrell from Sky News to raise awareness

Any help you can give to raise awareness and share the petition would be very much appreciated.

What people do not realise is, that whist this loophole exists, NO safeguarding check or DBS is worth the paper it is written on 😪

All that “well once they’ve done their time they should be allowed to move on and rebuild their lives bull shit doesn’t wash either. Those that they have raped and abused will never be able to fully move on will they.

It's crazy that it is even able to happen eh 🙈 people believe that all the Safeguarding checks, DBS, Sarah's law etc, protects our children. The scary reality is, they are not worth the paper they are written on whilst this loophole exists

They shouldn't be allowed to change their name or sex markers. Shane shouldn't be allowed to become Sheila and demand access to female toilets, changing rooms and the rest. It's far too open to exploitation by abusive men.

Doing your time isn't the only part of the sentence. Being known for what you are, and treated for what you are (in terms of people knowing to keep their children safe) is another part of the sentence. But people also need to restrain themselves from vigilanteism, to enable that part of the sentence to be able to be carried out.
