Protecting children from inappropriate content on TV and the internet - without censorship

Hello - I am Diana Kelman, the co-founder of SafeCast UK safecast.co.uk/ and SafeCast Global safecast.global/

SafeCast Global is an Anglo-Australian initiative which seeks to get public support for a change in the global video standards to protect children. My husband and I made a six minute YouTube video for this website which explains what SafeCast Global aims to do.

All children need to be protected from being harmed by seeing inappropriate video on the internet. But this is simply not happening and has got worse under COVID-19.

With SafeCast Global we invite members of the public of all ages (adults, children, teachers, charities, broadcasters, advertisers and mental health practitioners) to have their say about child protection on television and the internet. The Tell Us Your Concerns page provides the opportunity for people everywhere to express their support for a universal system that can properly protect children and vulnerable people through global standards.

On the SafeCast Global website is a global Change.org petition to be placed before telecommunications regulators and governments so that effective global child protection on television and the internet can be implemented within months (as early as Spring 2021) without the need for any new legislation. Please circulate and sign this petition.

We will also be promoting SafeCast Global on social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter) around the world as well as releasing news stories being generated from our public consultation.
