Your details remain private, I don't want to start yet another trans thread but I thnk we can all agree that there needs to be more discussion with the people affected by the changes in law!

6699!

NoSquirrels · 19/03/2018 21:21

I think we need something like 500 signatures a day to get it to 100,000 by the end of the 6 months.

Think today will be 500ish...

Fairenuff · 19/03/2018 22:06

Is everyone who has signed asking their partner (if they have one) to sign it?

I have got dh, dd and (after some persuasion) ds to sign. Have more rellies coming at the w/e so might be able to get them on board too.

BlackeyedSusan · 19/03/2018 22:51

BlackeyedSusan · 19/03/2018 22:52

working out from the positng times means not every day is 24 hours as bedtime is variable.

CapnHaddock · 19/03/2018 22:54

We don't need to get it to 100,000. We need to get it to 10,000 to kick of the debate. That will happen

CapnHaddock · 19/03/2018 22:56

Or have I got that wrong?

NoSquirrels · 19/03/2018 23:09

@CapnHaddock
At 10,000 Government will “respond” i.e. answer a letter saying “concerns noted”, I think.

At 100,000 it will be “considered” for debate...

Voice0fReason · 19/03/2018 23:13

10,000 prompts a written response
100,000 means they will consider debating it

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 19/03/2018 23:40

Yep and every vote is a person thinking and sharing - so awareness will get bigger than the vote.

Voting takes effort - but public opinion will shift.

I hope more fully transitioned people with dysphoria come out and speak about how the transactivists are nothing to do with them.

A solution for how to protect genuine dysphoria that doesn't involve being told they have biologically changed sex.

Kneedeepinunicorns · 20/03/2018 08:28

Nosquirrels I'll open the book on what the response will be:

My bet, starting at 4/1:

'We have no plans at present (but come back next week, we may have changed our mind) to change the single sex exemptions in the Equality Act (but we broke the Equality Act and sex now means anyone who says they're that sex, so single sex exemptions are now meaningless anyway). We must be kind and lovely to trans people suffering with gender dysphoria (and we're shutting our eyes and pretending we don't know about the invalid statistics used, and the huge part of the political movement that has no gender dysphoria but have sexual fetishes this will enable to harm women and girls) and meet their needs. (even if this fucks up women. And while you'd think we'd be able to come up with other ways to meet those needs without removing women's human rights, apparently we've got no one in any department capable of thinking, consulting or reading for answers on social media so we're buggered there)

NoSquirrels · 20/03/2018 10:13

6,800

Sanderz · 20/03/2018 10:22

130 signatories from outside the UK, do you think they're all expats/dual nationals? Do you have to be a UK national of some sort to sign?

CapnHaddock · 20/03/2018 10:47

Oh I see! Thanks for explaining.

Sanderz · 20/03/2018 18:31

Oh, I'm being thick, ignore me.

BlackeyedSusan · 20/03/2018 20:31

BlackeyedSusan · 20/03/2018 21:00

BlackeyedSusan · 20/03/2018 21:29

Lairy Leicester. and lets face it is is being lairy...

though some late to sign constituencies still only have one lonely signature.

worstwitch18 · 20/03/2018 22:28

hugoagogo · 21/03/2018 10:04

What is going on in Calder btw? Are there local issues I'm not aware of?

DodoPatrol · 21/03/2018 10:15

Well, it contains Hebden Bridge, which according to Wikipedia has seen 'an influx of artists, writers, photographers, musicians, alternative practitioners, teachers, Green and New Age activists and more recently, wealthier 'yuppie' types.'

Make of that what you will.
