This is a campaign of a friend of my DC.
It's about how people with Ehlers Danlos (a chronic illness) are excluded from the Paralympics and are often told they can't compete in the Olympics. For most Ehlers Danlos is dibilitating and can leave people having to sometime use whell chairs or walking aids. Yet if they had EDS named as a condition (other conditions like hyper mobility (on its own) chronic pain) are automatically not classified. Please help shed love 100 signatures thank you!

I have signed but can I just comment on the wording. Firstly, it's too long. You'll get more people to sign if it's short and snappy. Secondly, the aspiring Paralympian is not "confined to his wheelchair". Sorry but it's a pet peeve of mine as it's disabling language.

Also signed. I know three people with EDS. One has just got a wheelchair and has had to accept she's almost certainly not going to have the life she had planned for herself. It really can be debilitating.

hiddenaway34 · 08/10/2016 23:27

Thank you!

Absolutely totally agree.

Thankyou for starting this thread Flowers

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 09/10/2016 01:27

Will sign. I have EDS as do the rest of my family.

GreatFuckability · 09/10/2016 02:10

i've also signed. what an odd set up. My dd1 has hypermobility and is a promising gymnast. is it because the hypermobility aspect can actually be a benefit or something?

kali110 · 09/10/2016 02:13
