There is a petition calling for London to gain independence from the UK and remain as part of the EU:

It's an unlikely event but it would be interesting to discuss the ramifications of such a move.

I'm guessing as a first move, Barking & Dagenham would want to be part of Essex as they were majority Leave.

Ok. Hypothetically all the petitions work and a vote is held again, at great expense.
Then what?

Nothing changes. The majority vote to leave the EU.. What more petitions to do it all over again. And again. And again? That will really help all future negotiations with the world.

Remain wins.. The other side are fucked off and start countless petitions to have a re-vote. So the cycle continues. The world looks on laughing, negotiations affected.

Ok so finally we stop with the petitions and revotes. It's now the GE. The Mickey mouse party wins. Everyone else is fucked off, so starts the petitions. Expensive re-election. Yet again the cycle continues.

People really are losing the plot. I'm shocked that I share my country with so many hysterical weirdos.
