Refugee crisis - Why isn't the military involved in the logistics of the evacuation?

Hi all, first time on the forum and first time posting.

I know there are a lot of petitions about on the topic of refugees but I wanted to circulate this for signatures, essentially to make some noise about the fact that apart from sorting out the problem of the refugees when arriving in Europe, why hasn't the military been mobilised to provide assistance with the logistics of all the transportation, medical aid, food etc on the ground, for example in Jordan, Libya, Turkey, and providing military ships and planes to help these desperate human beings do the crossing?
Maybe it's a stupid idea and cannot be implemented but I cannot see how the displacement of these people is any different than that that would be caused by a major natural disaster.

BTW, this has nothing to do with political views or opinions about quotas, it is just about providing a pragmatic if temporary solution to the problem of people trafficking and death vessels.

Thanks for reading.
