Teachers who are parents will have to have After After school care to give them time to ensure all their class are collected (allowing a good 30/40 minutes after 6pm for working parents to collect their children-trains aren't always reliable, you know) and to get to their children's school to collect them from their teacher.

Then, if teacher one collects their own child from teacher 2 at 6.30, teacher two can collect their own child from teacher 3 at 7pm and so on. It'll work like a dream!

You have forgotten that the teachers won't leave till at least 18:20 due to bus duty and that they may not be able to leave till 19:15 due to meetings.

It'll be dorms with bunks for teachers to sleep in next-self funded, obviously ;)

I think this is part of a bigger picture of the constant pressure that our children are being put under by schools and society in general. I recommend reading Carl Honore's book 'Under Pressure' which gives in insightful view on this whole business.

Also, if anyone fancies doing a guest post at my blog on your views on the pressures our children are being put under by schools and the Government please contact me. I think there is a real debate to have about this!!
