Just in case anyone isnt up to date on this :)

Here is the blog link explaining what happened

Here is one of the many newspaper stories covering it (this one is the telegraph)

Here is the one from the mail, for those who are ok giving them clicks, which includes the extra spicy tidbit of a mn posters real name and occupation

now for the important bit...
Here is the petition

I think the reason is that change.org is worldwide, whereas the gov ones are uk only? Don't know, its not my petition, i just agree with it :)

I think his advise to leave the country is very unhelpful. I think it was wrong for Panorama to blame social workers. The issue was a legal and medical one for the Vitamin D episode. Sadly as was said on the other thread, spero's professional judgement was that a quarter of the cases she deals with have incompetent professionals involved. That is one petition I would sign and benefit the children and tax payer far more, one to ensure accountability and factually correct information sharing goes on with these professionals.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 15:35

Confused no one mentioned panorama, incompetent professionals, or vitamin d, the petition is about the stuff that happened on mn before? Have you posted on the wrong thread by accident (I've done this more than once before too)?

OP posts:
LooseTheBlubber · 15/01/2014 15:38

Have I committed some social error, or am I not allowed to talk about anything other than the petition? Confused

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 15:41

No, no, of course not, there are other threads about panorama, i posted on the wrong one yesterday and i wasnt the only one, so when i saw you mention panorama, i thought you'd done the same Blush

I was talking about JH in general, his latest interest was the Panorama show. I can see why you want the petition signed, I will look at it, I just wanted to mention some other things on my mind whilst on the thread.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 15:48

Of course, that makes perfect sense
Sorry for being a doughnut :)

LooserTheBubbler

You're right and I think a few people were thinking of opening another petition about it. The fact is that JH stands in the way of any reform while campaigning...to reform! I can guess that childsnatching conspiracies get more publicity than a simple one about a few reforms in child foster care and family courts...

MPs who break the law, threaten opponents publicly and stalk them on twitter should be held accountable. It is ok to promote a reform of the system. It is not OK to scaremonger hundreds of people and to wage a terroristic war against all those who oppose you and not the reforms themselves.

ouryve · 15/01/2014 17:01

Already signed but bumping, anyway.

Someone in such a position of responsibility and trust should not be so careless with confidential information (I'm doubting a junior at some council offices would get away with such indescretions) and shouldn't be allowed to give such bad advice like some boor at the local pub.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/01/2014 17:08

I love that he expects SWs to be perfect; to follow the letter of the law and do everything by the book but holds himself to no such standard. Mistakes do happen, I worked for SS, I know. Sometimes there is no right decision. However, none of the SWs I know named minors that were the subject of Court orders. Not one.

Terrortree · 15/01/2014 17:10

Resigning is an individual decision, but I do feel strongly that they should be sanctioned just like any other civil servant would be if they broke the law. I have signed but I feel this distinction is important.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 17:34
