Why is everyone spelling gorgeous wrong?

It makes my teeth itch when I see it -mainly used on facebook.

Gawjuss = shudder.

I think they must be trying to make it sound like the Little Britain character, picture Matt Lucas saying, "ooh, he's gawjuss".

Not as bad as my FB friends who write "gunna" for "going to", I could just about tolerate "gonna" if I had to...

Wrong is an adverb as well as an adjective. You don't think such a common everyday word would only take such a fussy Latinised form, really?
