Dice is plural. Die is singular.

The way I remember that dice is plural is to think of mice.

SPBInDisguise · 19/03/2010 14:24

you're right, dice is plural

displayuntilbestbefore · 19/03/2010 14:27

dice is plural

TrillianAstra · 19/03/2010 14:29

But does anyone actually say 'pass the die' when playing snakes and ladders?

yellowcircle · 19/03/2010 14:29

Thanks, I have been calling it a dice

dice is plural but maths teachers are told that dice as singular is acceptable

gerontius · 21/03/2010 20:41

Apparently it was changed last year so dice is acceptable in the singular. Language is crashing down around our ears....

Trilian - yes, my pedantic DH and DS. Am looking forward to telling them that dice is now an acceptable singular!
