Eel Pie Island in Gillingham which tells us in it's window it is a CAF'E.
I was so taken aback I had to walk past it several times this morning to check I wasn't seeing things.
Other highlights of Gillingham High Street were
"Have you been injured or in an accident which wasn't your fault!!!"
and another cafe which claimed to be "fully licenced and air conditioning".

are you sure it wasn't a dead bug?

Hassled · 14/02/2010 12:13

it's window?

StealthPolarBear · 14/02/2010 12:15

wow, didn't notice that

Hassled · 14/02/2010 12:18

I think the first time I ever posted in Pedants' Corner I made some really basic crap spelling mistake - it happens to the best of us .

StealthPolarBear · 14/02/2010 12:19

I flounced from Pedants' corner after having DD as my typing had become laughable - typos and baby brain mistakes everywhere!

Bumperlicious · 14/02/2010 12:21

Muphry's Law

ShrinkingViolet · 14/02/2010 12:21

oh yes . But at least I'm only posting in an internet forum, and not advertising my rubbish typing to potential customers .

at least it wasn't a shop like M&S and John Lewis. I get a slight sinking "what is the country coming to?" feeling when I hear about errors that they have made.

StealthPolarBear · 14/02/2010 12:24

PMSL Bumper, I love that
Pixie, that's a good point, bet that's it. Lol at sings though

ShrinkingViolet · 14/02/2010 12:26

I reckon it was the sign-writer "knowing" that there's an accent or something on the 'e' of cafe, but not really knowing what it should look like.

cattj · 15/02/2010 11:04

@PixieOnaLeaf

to => do

sings => signs

Ooops!

CarryOnDancing · 17/02/2010 11:25

I enquired to my local pub about their 'Hallowean Party' sign and they said they declined the spell check service of the sign company as it was extra cost. So unless you pay extra you literally get what you write down!

Le'Shae - name of a ten year old.

What do you think the ' is short for?
