We've had the noughties so what is next? The deccies or the twenty tens? Do anyone else think about these things or I fear I may be the only one who does.

the 1910s decade was referred to generally as the teens, i think. (which is technically incorrect)
but it might have been a retrospective nomer.

Twenteenies

Thanks i'm sure we'll find out soon. Though I like the sound of the teens as we are in double figures.

Ha ha, i was trying to work this one out yesterday when writing Christmas cards. Quite liked the idea of the Nice-ies, the opposite of the 'naughties', but not sure if my pedant side can reconcile this with the wrong spelling.

Bump

I need to know as this decade will be to DD what the 80s were to me! So vitally important!

Moosy · 03/01/2010 13:19

Tenties?

nofunanymore · 09/01/2010 22:09

Slightly off-thread, but I really hate the term 'the noughties'. I think it sounds puerile - I'd have much preferred 'the zeroes'.

bluejeans · 09/01/2010 22:33

me too - it's rubbish. Probably why it took until the end of the decade to really stick
