TK Maxx - illiterate tossers

HUGE lettering up by the tills in TK Maxx. Don't know if this is just our branch or everywhere. It's all in lower case, which I don't have a problem with as it looks more "arty", but it says:

"this store's best delivery arrive's every monday...."

What?

WHAT?

WHAT??

It's one of those situations where you think - hang on. This is not some chalked-up thing done by one person. This has been sanctioned and observed at several levels. It took someone a lot of effort to put that apostrophe there physically (the letters are all individual "pieces" stick up).

I mean... WHY? HOW??

Will you take this any further? As you say, it would have been checked by more than one person. Outrageous!

Enormous Herefordshire Council outdoor banner:

Welcome to the Antique's and Craft Fair.

To be fair, someone had spotted it and Tippexed out the apostrophe, but the Tippex had created a Touch Eclat effect, and highlighted it even more.

TsarChasm · 18/11/2009 11:46

Lol at Touche Eclat effect.

Use Tippex instead? Good idea actually..that'll save a few quid!

I always mentally tippex out the extra 'x' too in Maxx. What's that all about anyway?

TrillianAstra · 18/11/2009 11:48

I didn't think 'TK Maxx' was supposed to invoke any "real" words, so their name doesn't bother me

cattj · 27/11/2009 11:37

TK Maxx...

Why is it TJ Maxx in the US?

YourCallIsImportant · 27/11/2009 12:15

Someone bought DD a T-shirt from Asda once which said "lovely strawberry's" on it.

It went straight in the charity bag.

In huge letters on the window of our local MFI Bankrupt Stock Outlet

"Up to 60% off Mattress'es"

I kid you not

I stood outside and phoned my husband, shouting about how this proved why they deserved to go bust.
