Outside a house advertising wares for sale:

Nestboxs

it is a slight improvement on nestbox's, though, isn't it?

(actually, it would need an ' because there's a letter missing)

sazzerbear · 04/11/2009 11:33

True nickelbang, at least no random apostrophe usage!

Fnarrrh!

We have a coffee van on the main road near our house. The sign says -

Hot Coffee Next labye

It has been like that for months. Sigh.

Do you think it is small minded that this really, really grates on me, EVERY time I go by? (Proof reader by trade - I just can't help it)

sazzerbear · 04/11/2009 11:36

YANBU, it seems to be getting worse everyhwere you look, not better!

OP posts:
nickelbang · 04/11/2009 11:38

everyhwere

you're so funny sazzerbear!!

Cakesandale · 04/11/2009 11:41

Thanks. I know it has been widely reported, but when I saw the words 'Damming Report' writ large on the screen on the BBC News last week, I felt like rolling over and sobbing quietly for a bit. Instead I just swore (but grammatically and in an appropriately spelled maner )

sazzerbear · 04/11/2009 11:46

just making sure you were paying attention nickelbang. Changing subject slightly - on the weather forecast the other night "spits and spots of rain" wtf?

OP posts:
Cakesandale · 04/11/2009 11:49

(Steps outside and wipes spittle from jacket)

Cakesandale · 04/11/2009 11:55

Also changing subject a bit:

Dd came home with her painting, labelled by the teacher in BIG letters:

Seals in the sanctury

Dd swears it is right because Mrs Miggins says so (gah!)

nickelbang · 04/11/2009 12:10

gah!

what's the world coming to?

Iklboo · 04/11/2009 12:17

DS brought a newsletter home from nursery the other week that had 17 spelling & grammatical errors

Soft play place last week had a sign in the car park:

'Softplay cannot except any responsibility for damage to customers vehicles while left in the car park'

Cakesandale · 04/11/2009 12:26

Ooh dear

17 is going some!

There is a nursery somewhere near us that has several cars, all liveried up with the work - kindergarton. If they were mine I would have refused to pay..

I predict that we will all have to either start taking valium, or risk keeling over with a stress-induced stroke

lou33 · 04/11/2009 13:05

i passed a road sign the other day, which said to "expexct delays" due to roadworks

cattj · 05/11/2009 23:32

Many years ago, a sign with an arrow pointing towards a side-turn: SCHHOL
