Alesha - you was a bit irritating

I may have to watch Strictly with the sound turned down tonight if Alesha starts every sentence with ' you was ', as I fear she will.

Could someone at the Beeb have a little word with her because now that she is actually stringing sentences together - an improvement on ' you look great. Love the dress!' - it's beginning to grate?

Or is this some ironic device to match Craig and Bruno?

Well said Campion. Everytime she says 'you was' I scream at the TV. 'were'

I can't bare her.

A classic example of how grammatically pig think most people are in this country now. Loads of girls I work with say 'I done this' and they work with children! What hope do we have?

PIG THICK

Did she arks any questions? I hate that even more...

Even my 12-year-old DD flinches when Alesha says "you was".

LadyGP, my 8-year old was able to recognise that she spoke poor English! I emailed the BBC to complain (must be turning into grumpy old woman!) But honestly, it's not some arcane point of grammar if even a child can recognise that she is speaking incorrectly. If we are going to be forced to listen to her inane drivel, it should at least be delivered correctly!
