On the M8 today I saw the helpful advice

Tiredness' can kill

That's got to win the award for the most random use of an apostrophe surely?!

no. I think it indicates a plural of tiredness. I think.

lowrib · 20/07/2009 00:06

Eh?! A plural or tiredness?!

It still wouldn't have an apostrophe anyway.

Actually, I couldn't give a toss about the grammar and punctuation on these signs - I just don't need or want a sign on the motorway issuing instructions. "Don't drink and drive", "tiredness kills", "keep your distance", "belt up"

The M8 is the worst motorway in the country for this.

And as for "twenty's plenty" boak.

If there really is an issue with drivers not adhering to the rules get some PCs out on the beat and in cars and issue some tickets.

And here ends my rant...

I would have swerved and crashed if I had read that.

lowrib · 01/08/2009 01:49

hambler I'm glad it's not just me!

Thankfully I wasn't driving

This is related in a driving sort of way.

DH won a car valet in a raffle.
It is by "Dave,s Auto Valeting"

Shudder.

What about this sign on the motorway.

Drug driving costs lives.
