I know, I know, new words are the lifeblood of the language and all that, but nevertheless...

what does it mean?

It was on a website, I can't remember the exact sentence but it was saying something like, please wait a few seconds for updation - i.e. for the site to update itself.

Oh that's awful! Stupid word.

mahoosive - which is my favourite word, a cross between massive and er something else, or actually maybe it really it is a word and i'm crazy and crap with words

'mahoosive' is lovely, creative and funny. I mean words that make you cringe.

oh good, thats ok then, what makes me cringe at nursery is 'whatdoing?' said by children and parents to children, i don't like how a sentances has become one word even though it is really two, makes me shiver when i hear them say it

I know it's not new but 'guestimation' makes my teeth itch.

Adam Hills as part of his act a couple of years ago did a whole section on the wrongness of inventing new words when there were perfectly acceptable one already there, his pet hat was sportsman who had bouncebackability - the word you want is resilience.

I of course meant pet hate - he did not keep a small trilby in a cage and take it for occasional walks.

when I had horror pleasure of working for a US corporation, I was asked on a weekly basis to contractize a product offer.

Factoid. It is now everywhere. It's a fact you idiot, wtf is the oid for!

But the best new word (well, not quite new but newly common) is scrappage (as in scrappage allowance).

I love that word. It just makes me happy.

Peeps, and I actually heard someone refer to one peep the other day.
It sends me into a rage.
